The Generation Google Scholarship was established to help aspiring computer scientists excel in technology and become leaders in the field. A group of undergraduate and graduate students will be chosen from the applicant pool, and scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of each candidate’s impact on diversity, demonstrated leadership and academic background. Selected undergraduate and graduate students will receive 10,000 USD (for those studying in the US) or 5,000 CAD (for those studying in Canada) for the 2019-2020 school year.

- Be pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering or a degree in a closely related technical field
- Exemplify leadership and demonstrate passion for improving representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology
- The program is open to qualified undergraduate and graduate university students who meet the above criteria and we strongly encourage students from historically underrepresented groups, including Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian, or Filipino/Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, to apply.

- Be able to demonstrate an interest in and motivation for studying computer science.
